The Senior High School program at Saint Pedro Poveda College is grounded in a strong Catholic educational tradition and the Poveda philosophy of Personalized Education. The Senior High School curriculum at Saint Pedro Poveda College follows the K to 12 Program of the Department of Education and offers the Academic Track in line with its Strengthened Senior High School Program. The Academic Track includes Pure and Health Sciences; Mathematics, Engineering, and Computer Science; Social Sciences and Education; Integrative Arts; and Business and Entrepreneurship.

Grounded in the school’s Catholic identity and the Personalized Education of POVEDA, the DepEd curriculum is enriched by mission-driven courses and programs such as Christian Life Education and Spanish. These contribute to the holistic formation of students, nurturing personal wellbeing, spiritual growth, and intercultural understanding.

Enriched by transdisciplinary learning, the curriculum offers a seamless and integrated learning experience that nurtures global awareness, cultural understanding, and personal growth. Value-laden content and purposeful engagement across subject areas support students’ ongoing formation empowering them to take initiative, act responsibly, and flourish in an increasingly interconnected world.

Spanish is an important part of Saint Pedro Poveda College’s heritage, reflecting its roots in the Teresian Association and its connection to Saint Pedro Poveda. Learning the language allows students to deepen their understanding of the history and cultural identity of the school.

Beyond tradition, Spanish is a global language that opens doors to international opportunities in education. Through structured classes and the school’s partnership with Instituto Cervantes de Manila, students develop strong communication skills and intercultural understanding. By Grade 11, they are prepared to take the Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera (DELE), an internationally recognized certification granted by Spain’s Ministry of Education, Culture, and Sports. The DELE Exam is administered in Grade 12 in the month of November. This credential not only affirms their language proficiency, but also enhances their academic profiles and expands their access to scholarships, university programs, and global career pathways.

The Advanced Placement (AP) program offers high school students the opportunity to take university-level courses that develop advanced thinking skills, academic discipline, and college readiness. These rigorous courses are designed to enrich the academic experience of students and support their transition to university, whether local or abroad.

Participation in AP® courses helps students build strong academic skills and earn college credits in Philippine and international universities, making it a valuable head start in their university journey. AP provides students with an opportunity to go beyond the standard curriculum and gain early momentum in their academic pursuits. Its sessions are held after regular class hours.
