Celebrating excellence.
This is Povedan Pride. 🌟💫
We honor our esteemed alumna, Marian Joy N. Gureng of Batch 2003 and a former member of POVEDA Hard Court, who continues to shine through her endeavors as she shares her journey:
She, together with Mary Vergara, was nominated for the InspirationALL Women Awards in the London Borough of Barnet, which has nearly 400,000 constituents, and they are incredibly proud to have received a Highly Commended recognition. She and Mary are both Filipino mothers and Nurse Managers in London. In addition, they were invited to meet Ambassador Teodoro Locsin Jr. at the Philippine Embassy in London.
The nomination recognized their work with The Mum Club Barnet, highlighting the community they have built and the support it has provided for many mums locally. It was such an honor to see the impact of the club acknowledged in this way.
Through this journey, she also aims to empower other women, especially mothers, to continue their selfless acts of love for their children and communities. Despite the demands of caring for others and navigating a personal battle with breast cancer, she remains deeply grateful for a renewed lease on life after treatment and for the strength to not let it define her. Her story is a testament to resilience, purpose, and the enduring strength of women.
