Among 67 countries and 1,400 scholars, our very own Alyana Rigor, Mattie Lapid, and Daisy Budhrani proudly represented Saint Pedro Poveda College and the Philippines at the World Scholar’s Cup: Tournament of Champions, held at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut from November 7–12.

This prestigious event marked the culminating round of their World Scholar’s Cup journey, which began in April this year. Competing among the world’s best, the team demonstrated excellence and determination under the guidance of their coach, Ms. Jessie Cañal.

The team earned a gold medal in the Scholar’s Bowl and silver medals in Debate and Collaborative Writing.

Individually, Mattie secured a silver medal in Debate, while Alyana earned two silver medals in Debate and Writing. Daisy, meanwhile, was awarded a gold medal in Writing, along with three silver medals in the Scholar’s Challenge and Special Subject Challenges, particularly in Social Science and History.

Congratulations to our scholars! Your excellence, perseverance, and Povedan spirit continue to shine on the global stage. 💛✨
