March 6, 2026, marked the beginning of the 4TH POVMUN Conference in Saint Pedro Poveda College. With the theme of ""Ignition Point: Catalyzing Global Resilience as Tribute to Post-Conflict Recovery,"" over 150 delegates were challenged to navigate these issues with diplomatic collaboration.
We thank our guest speaker, Franz Lopez, for inspiring these delegates on the importance of journalism and photography in modern times. He has truly motivated them to create resolutions that promote resilience and recovery.
These delegates have truly embodied what it means to cooperate with one another when tackling global issues. In the three days given, they've debated the nuances of each topic and written speeches on how they believe it could be solved. With their votes to amend, table, or pass resolutions--the delegates have achieved diplomacy in creating the most effective solution for their committees.
This is exemplified within all committees: The regional trial court, who addressed the issue of Taguig v. Makati in the Philippines; the UNFPA who tackled issues of climate change and overpopulation for informal settlements; the historical crisis committee who reflected on the events which transpired after Mongke Khan's death; the UNCTC who tackled counterterrorism efforts in the modern age, and ways to cease funding for terrorist groups; the creative crisis committee, who reimagined what could have happened within the 76th Hunger Games under the themes of classism and systemic oppression; and the African Union who analyzed current trade efforts and governance within Africa. All committees had represented the theme of global resilience with proficiency and professionalism.
Thank you to the members of the POVEDA Model United Nations organization, moderators, and all delegates who helped make this conference possible!
We hope to see you next time!
