LAUNCHING OF THE JOSEFA SEGOVIA VILLAGE

A pleasant morning to our guests, Atty. Leony Balmeo, Official Representative of the Foundation (ANCOP) & Member of Sector Governance Team of CFC, Mrs. Elvira Balmeo, Treasurer & Clergy Relations Officer of the Foundation, Atty. Arnel Santos, Sector Head of the Couples For Christ (West B), Mr. & Mrs. Banson, PPA President, Mrs. Menchu Roman, PPA- Head of Social Action Committee and to all of you, members of the Poveda community.

It was just a month ago when we welcomed the New Year 2012. Hopefully, too, we will welcome many other events in 2012, such as the launching of the JOSEFA SEGOVIA VILLAGE this morning. This is in collaboration with the local government of San Mateo, Rizal, Couples for Christ and most especially with the support of the Poveda Parents Association, Alumnae, friends and benefactors.

I believe you will still remember how you helped in building the Poveda Village for the community residents of Taguig when you were still pre-schoolers and grade schoolers. In 2006, I was the Grade School Principal then, you touched me with your generosity, filling up the GK bottles with coins, and by your untiring service when I saw you carrying hollow blocks, painting, cutting wires or doing whatever small help you can extend when we built the Poveda village in Taguig. I deeply appreciate all the acts of kindness you do each day, your varied ways of showing solidarity on various occasions.

This time, the project JOSEFA SEGOVIA VILLAGE will be more touching and inspiring because we will be building houses for persons closest to us, our maintenance personnel and administrative staff with whom we relate with every day here in Poveda.

With your generous help, Josefa Segovia will be smiling in heaven seeing you happily making a difference in the lives of our manongs, manangs and staff, by giving them a decent house which they can call their own.

In the grade school planner, you will find in the month of March “United in Service for TA 100 years.” Let us heed this call and be concrete in our commitment to be persons for others. So I invite you to take the challenge, “Come and be ONE with US as we celebrate Josefa Segovia Village.”
