It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the new school year 2011-2012. Our dedicated and committed teachers have been enthusiastically preparing for this school year and we all look forward to journeying with you in what will be a very exciting year. We are confident that you will continue to enjoy academic excellence in a respectful and caring environment at Saint Pedro Poveda College.

In this year of the TA centenary 2011, we would like you to vibrate with us, TA members present in the four continents of Asia, America, Africa and Europe. As students, being formed in the Povedan way, you are challenged   to live the Povedan core values. I hope you have noticed the Ten Povedan Core Values: Christ-centeredness/humility, love, excellence, authenticity/simplicity, order, balance/harmony, joy, commitment, witnessing/good example, initiative/responsible freedom, displayed in the four gates. Those values are not just there to remain, but they are to be imbibed by each Povedan. For this school year, we would like to focus on the first core value of Christ-centeredness, the foundation of all these values. Christ-centeredness is a lifetime goal which all of us desire to achieve. Each day, make sure that you renew your relationship with Christ by offering all your intentions to Him. Pray that He will guide you to the right path.

I invite you to pray each day the prayer of Fr. Poveda:

            “Lord, that I may think what you want me to think,

            That I may love the way you want me to love,

That I may speak what you want me to speak,

That I may act  the way you want me to act,

This is my only ambition, Lord.”

In behalf of the College Board and the whole Povedan community, we extend our best wishes to all of you for a wonderful Povedan experience! Let us walk together, with your parents, teachers and the whole Povedan community as we pursue the dream to be Povedans for others having imbibed the Teresian spirit.
