A Lenten activity for “yayas” or caregivers was held at the Little Theatre on February 26, 2009. This was part of the Yaya Development Program initiated by the Preschool Unit. There were forty six participants in the morning session and thirty in the afternoon. Three units: Grade school, Guidance and the Preschool, shared their time and effort to make this event possible. The recollection was also their preparation for the most important and joyous celebration in the church - Easter.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation was the focus of such spiritual activity. Two priests were also invited to hear confession and all those who attended availed of the sacrament. It was an opportune time for them to renew their relationship with God that was once lost because of sins. They were so grateful for this opportunity because most of them had their last confession years ago. It was truly a day of grace; a day of forgiveness.
The activity ended with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist with Rev. Fr. Jason of the San Carlos Seminary as the presider. In his homily, he reminded them about Jesus’ love by suffering and dying for all of us. He also encouraged them to have their own rosary and Bible.
Everybody went home with peace of mind and heart, assured of God’s unconditional love for them. Indeed, God is the best Caregiver.
