Advanced Placement® (AP) Program

This program offers university level courses to high school students to prepare them for the cognitive and research skills and discipline that are essential in college. The curriculum of this program is under the auspices of the College Board that regulates Advanced Placement curriculum in the United States. It helps to prepare students for a successful transition to college through programs and services in college readiness and college success.

DELE Diplomas

The Diploma de Espanol como Lengua Extranjera (DELE) is administered to students after they have undergone conscientious training from certified Spanish teachers from Instituto Cervantes, a non-profit organization founded by the Spanish government responsible for promoting the study and teaching of Spanish language and culture. examination to your daughters. If they pass the examination, then, they earn the DELE diploma (Diploma in Spanish as a Foreign Language). This is acknowledged by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports of Spain. The DELE Diplomas are internationally recognized and enjoy a great prestige not only among private and public educational institutions and authorities, but also in the business world and chambers of commerce.

Poveda Cultural Laboratory

The Poveda Cultural Laboratory (PCL) is an academic program initiated and designed by the Social Studies Area to enrich, supplement and apply students’ knowledge of geography, culture and history through experiential learning in international context. Its major activity involves traveling to significant historical places and interacting with people of other cultures in a supervised setting.

At the end of the tour, the participants are expected to have:

  1. validated historical knowledge and understanding of cultural concepts they have learned in class;
  2. witnessed and experienced first-hand other cultures;
  3. socialized and interacted with the people of other cultures;
  4. familiarized themselves with the language and customs of people from other cultures;
  5. become responsible, efficient and open-minded travelers;
  6. shared the rich Filipino culture and proudly exhibit positive Filipino values of faith, graciousness and resilience; and
  7. concretely shared what they have learned from their travel with the rest of the Povedan community.

Robotics and Math Enrichment Programs

Programming and Robotics

The Programming and Robotics curriculum enables the students to learn basic engineering and programming concepts. It involves building various machines, creating programs and utilizing motors and sensors. Scratch Jr., an ipad programming application, will let students program their own interactive stories and games. During hands-on activities, students will learn to solve problems, design projects, and express their creativity. The Lego Mindstorm EV3 is utilized to enable students to learn basic robot construction and programming.

Math Enrichment Program

The Math Enrichment Program provides greater opportunity for mathematically inclined students to maximize their potential and abilities in the subject. Students who belong to this program are pulled out from the regular Math class and are handled by a separate Math Enrichment teacher.

Career Development Program

The Career Development Program focuses on strategies and interventions to assist students with career exploration, planning, and decision-making. It is also through this program that students are assisted in terms of their college placement.
